Frequently Asked Questions About Payments and Other Information Regarding Payments

These are some of our frequently asked questions about payments that are not on the price guide (or are, but not easily understandable) in this section.  We have tried to cover every payment question with all of its information that we can think of.  If you have any questions or need any more information about payments, then please feel free to reach out to Dance To Inspire Dance Studio at any time.

What are "make-up classes/lessons" and what constitutes them?

Make-up classes/lessons are if any unfortunate event(s) such as terrible weather occurring the day of schedules classes/lessons, a main water break, the studio’s bathroom is not working on the day of scheduled classes/lessons, if Miss Heather cannot open the studio or instruct due to coming due with an illness or an emergent event were to occur such as a death in Miss Heather’s personal family, and other reasons that may correspond with the reasons that have been given causes a scheduled class/lesson to cancel.

In the event of make-up classes/lessons are owed, we will try to work will all families of the students in the class to find the best time to hold makeup classes/ lessons, or if Miss Heather cannot find time at any point of the dance season to make up any classes/lessons, then a partial refund will be refunded back to you with a written receipt.

While we appreciate the student's family not bringing the student to class/their lesson while they are ill, and we are very understanding that plans are sometimes made ahead of time such as vacations and sports events, or that other unfortunate unforeseen events take place that is beyond our control or prevent from happening; However, these do not constitute for having a class/lesson make up owed to the student, or having any payment refunded.

What are "drop in classes?"

Drop in classes are when you or your student would like to try a class/lesson or two to see if they like dance/acrobatics without any commitment necessary.  This prevents having a student or their family pay for a full month and then the student does not end up coming back again for whatever the reason may be.

Drop in classes may also be the best option if you or your student cannot make every class or every month of the season, and if you or your student cannot or are not ready or cannot make the commitment of dancing for the full year.

When are drop in classes payments due and how does it work?

Drop in class/lesson payments are due in full for that day before the class/lesson time starts.

Drop in class/lesson payments are price as the following as long as all classes are on the same day:

1 class/lesson = $20

2 classes/lessons = $30

3 classes/lessons = $40

4 classes/lessons = $50

and so on....

When are monthly tuition payments due and other information about late monthly tuition payments?

All monthly tuition payments are due on the first day of the month on the day of your student's classes, NO EXCEPTIONS.  There is a $10 late fee that will be added to the late monthly tuition payment that is owed for every week that the payment is late

This may also cause the student to have to "sit out and watch" all of their classes/lessons and they will not participate in classes/lessons at all.  If needed, Dance To Inspire Dance Studio will have the right and will take legal action for all missing and late payments if there are more than 2 months of late payments (this would be 2 monthly tuition payments) or any payments that are not paid in full by the end of the season that the payments were due.  If payments are still not paid for the current season that we are in, then we unfortunately may not be able to accept the student's registration for the next season until payments are all paid in full.

What if I have more than one student that is registered with your studio but their classes are on different days of the week?

If you have two students registered with our studio but they both have classes/lessons on at least 2 different days of the week, then all monthly tuition for all students that you are being held accountable for paying for are due in full that day.

What happens with the monthly tuition payment if there is less than 3 days of dance scheduled for my student for that month?

If your student has LESS than 3 class/lesson days scheduled a month, then a determined partial amount will be deducted from the student's monthly tuition total for that month.

If you have more than one student registered but one of those students has LESS than 3 class/lesson days scheduled for that month but the other student has 3 or more class/lesson days scheduled for that month, then that month's tuition bill will be the following:

Your 1st student will have a determined partial amount that will be deducted from their part of the monthly tuition bill, but the 2nd student's part of the monthly tuition bill will be due in full.

What about items that may need to be paid for that are not listed above?

Costume deposits, final costume payment, shoe payment, or any other extra payment are not included in this price guide because of each item being different prices, but all involved parties will find out these extra payment details as the studio finds and finalizes all information.

When we have all financial and other finalized information that is needed to determine what the payment may be for the item in question, we will give that date to parents with the due date for that particular payment.

We offer some financial help by offering payment plan options.

Are the competition team's monthly tuition the same as regular monthly tuition? What rules apply for the competition team's monthly tuition?

Monthly tuition for our competition is not the same as regular tuition.  It is a flat fee of $100 a month on top of your regular monthly tuition regardless of how many scheduled practice days that your student has per a month.

Otherwise, monthly tuition for our competition team is very similar to regular monthly tuition.  The monthly tuition is due the first day of the month that your student's practices are.  The $10 a week late fee and the same repercussions are in place if your student's competition team's monthly tuition is late or remains unpaid.

What is the $150 deposit per each competition event that everyone on the team plans to attend that each team member has to be paid in order to participate in any competition that team attends during that season?

Dance To Inspire Dance Studio is not only in its second year of business, but also its second year of having its very own competition team.  We try very hard to keep our competition team as fundraised based as we possibly can so that the team member's families do not have to worry about the cost or the burden of not having to make a difficult choice of letting their team member compete due to lack of financials or any financial rough patches that they are experiencing at the time.

With that being said, we have multiple fundraisers throughout the season to cover competition team entry fees (all profit that is made from each fundraiser that the team puts on is equally distributed to each team member based on participation and contribution to each individual fundraiser, that the studio keeps the result of and very carefully documents).  Because of an event where a team member without any warnings or good reasoning suddenly pulled themselves from all of our competition team and from all competitions that we were participating in for the season.  The team had already paid for their entries without asking for any deposit as a safety net from them in the event that something was to happen like this.  As an unfortunate consequence for the whole remaining team members of the team, we have had to forfeit those entry fees for all of the competitions that were paid for ahead of time for this person.

Due to this event and to prevent this event from happening again in the future, we have put this policy in place for the safety of the competition team.  A $150 deposit per team member (so if you have more than one team member on the team, you have to pay $300 for example if you had two team members that were on the team) is to be paid by all team members before every competition that we attend for that season.  There will be due dates for each competition that we attend given ahead of time.  If the deposit is not paid for a particular competition by the due date given, then there will be a very strong chance that your team member will not be participating with our team for that competition.

What are Dance To Inspire Dance Studio's payment plans and what are the rules for them?

We are happy to offer financial help by offering payment plans.  Please inquire to Dance To Inspire Dance Studio for more information as all plans are made personally between Miss Heather and the student's family and are based on different personal/business conditions.  Payment plans may be made in place for paying monthly tuition costs, costume deposit, final costume payment, and any other payments that the clientele may be financially struggling to pay for at that current particular time frame.

All payment plans have to be inquired about and arranged at a minimum of ONE WEEK before monthly tuition or any other payments are due; Otherwise the payment plan will not apply for that month and you will be charged and responsible for paying the full monthly tuition and any late fee that may come with it. We will also have to have you sign a form on the agreed upon payment plan/plans that one week before monthly or any other payment is due or else the payment plan cannot start and you will be charged and responsible for paying the full monthly tuition and any late fee that may come with it.

Although all payment plans are different and may have different due dates, if you do not pay on the agreed upon date then there is a $10 late fee that will be added to that payment for that missed agreed upon due date that will be owed for every week that the payment for that missed agreed upon date remains unpaid.

This may also cause the student to have to "sit out and watch" all of their classes/lessons and they will not participate in classes/lessons at all.  If needed, Dance To Inspire Dance Studio will have the right and will take legal action for all missing and late payments if they are more than whatever the payment plans terms and agreements statements are listed and written in the plan that is agreed upon and signed by all necessary parties are listed in the agreement.  If payments are still not paid for the current season that we are in, then we unfortunately may not be able to accept the student's registration for the next season until payments are all paid in full.

Are all of the payment terms and repercussions (besides any payment plans that are made between all involved parties in the matter)? stated in the registration forms (for both classes/lessons and competition team)

Yes, all terms, repercussions, and other information are in the registration forms that are used to sign every student up for classes (including our competition team registration forms).  We realized the terms in the registration may sound and seem harsh, however, Dance To Inspire Dance Studio chooses to do this for multiple reasons:

  • For the studio's, your student's, your family's, and your own safety.
  • To make sure that everyone has a very clear understanding of protocols and procedures so that there are no misunderstandings
  • To legally cover the studio, your student(s), your family, and yourself in the event that an unforeseen event was to occur.

This is also why Dance To Inspire Dance Studio makes everyone physically sign all of the necessary parts that the registration has on the student's first day of classes/lessons/practices.  We may also provide you a copy of the registration paperwork that you have signed anytime after 24 hours of the request.

Dance To Inspire Dance Studio will also a copy of our studio handbook that will and should be easy to access:

  • On our website
  • A physical copy(ies) in the studio
  • We may also physically give you or send via email a copy of the studio handbook

May I get a receipt/documentation of the item(s) that I am paying for (even monthly tuition payments)?

Yes, Dance to Inspire Dance Studio will be very happy to give you a copy of the receipt for anything that is paid for by anyone in the studio.  Depending on what needs to be documented on the receipt, Miss Heather may need until either after classes/lessons are over (if they do not overlap with another one) or 24 hours to make the receipt/documentation and then present it to you in person or digitally (whichever you choose).  We may ask for this extra time because Miss Heather is the only staff member of our studio at this time and we would like to make sure that all documentation on the receipt is accurate.

What happens with payments if my student quits and/or is terminated from the studio before the current season is over?

We understand that dance/acrobatics may not be for everyone or that there are many other reasons that one may have to leave the studio for unpreventable reasons.

If there are any unpaid payments from your student that are/remains paid for then there may be repercussions.

Some of these repercussions are:

  • Dance To Inspire Dance Studio has the right and will take legal action if needed to receive any unpaid payment that your student may owe
  • Depending on circumstances and how fraudulent your student's unpaid payments are due are, Dance To Inspire Dance Studio may have to make the difficult decision not to invite yourself, your student, and anyone one that is in your intermediate family (such as sons, daughters, and significant other) will be uninvited from taking part in events from Dance To Inspire Dance Studio such as registering to become a student/a member of our competition team.
